The National Administrative Department of Solidary Economy (Spanish: Departamento Administrativo Nacional de la Economía Solidaria, DanSocial) is the Colombian Executive Administrative Department in charge of directing and coordinating government policy to promote, plan, protect, strengthen, and develop the organizations of social economy in order to improve the quality of life of the Colombian people[2].
Congress created DanSocial on August 4, 1998, when it passed Law 454 of 1998, replacing the National Administrative Deapartment of Cooperatives (Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Cooperativas)[3].
